On 10/25/2017 I was driving home from work when my transmission failed. My vehicle is a 2010 chevy equinox and has 41,000 miles on it.
I realize my vehicle is beyond the warranty. In looking further into this problem online through GM Inside News forum I could see there were quite a few people writing their complaints on these same issues. The problem being a wave plate failure and causing the car to slip out of gear while driving. I contacted GM on 10/26/17 they had me tow to a Chevy dealer at no charge.
GM now tells me their only going to pay for a portion of the transmission cost which could be anywhere between $2000 and $4000. I don't believe I should be responsible for any cost based on what I've read in the forum and very low miles on this vehicle. I should not be looking at replacing any transmission with this vehicle so early on.
Please help with any assistance possible. Thank you in advance!
